One death occurs every 8 seconds caused by the daily, necessary act of cooking food. The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, a United Nations Foundation led initiative, is working to prevent these deaths by bringing clean and efficient household cooking solutions to 100 million homes by 2020.
